Description The Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) Contract Manager is responsible for leading the completion of the enterprise transformation through successful testing, training, implementation, adoption, and long-term maintenance of the first phase roll-out of the CLM platform (upstream client contracts) including auditing the current contract processes and repository, creating process maps, training, corporate governance and user roles, and structuring, testing, training, implementation and long-term maintenance of second phase of the enterprise-wide CLM Platform which incorporates downstream contracting. The CLM Contract Manager will sit within the legal department and work closely with the innovation office, Blue Horizon (enterprise transformation), company leadership, Information Technology (IT), finance, legal, insurance, risk, procurement, and project teams. This is an in-office position located at our Kansas City, MO office. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Own the Product Vision & Backlog: Define and maintain the product backlog, prioritize features based on stakeholder input and business value, and ensure clarity of user stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Bridge Strategy and Execution: Partner with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to define and set the product vision and strategy and turn that into deliverables and features aligned with legal and operational requirements.

  • Lead Agile Delivery: Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and configuration/vendor teams. Conduct sprint planning, backlog grooming, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

  • Ensure Compliance & Value Realization: Integrate and validate business rules, compliance standards, legal templates, and automation goals into the platform, ensuring high adoption and measurable value post-launch.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Regularly engage with Legal, Risk, Procurement, IT, Finance and project teams to understand needs, validate feature development, and promote system usage.

  • Support Change Management: Drive user training, communications, end-user support, and feedback loops to support change management and continuous improvement.

  • Enable Long-Term Platform Evolution: Recommend product enhancements, integrate emerging technologies like AI, and provide input into dashboards and reporting for executive leadership.

  • Other duties: as assigned by the Contracts Department Manager and legal department. Such responsibilities may include: contract assignments, drafting and updating templates, providing legal review of IT/Software Agreements, Corporate Procurement Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Consulting Agreements, Event Contracts, and other Project related contracts, drafting formal contract notices to clients, reviewing and drafting corporate templates, legal research, etc.

  • Minimal travel is anticipated.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Legal, Business, Supply Chain Management, Construction, or related field and 7 years of experience required.

  • Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience implementing and leading CLM initiatives, preferred.

  • A minimum of 7 years of contract exposure experience, preferred.

  • Solid understanding of legal principals and commercial terms and conditions.

  • Excellent organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and proven negotiation skills.

  • Capable of strategic thought, change management planning and strategic planning for the future handling of contract integration.

  • Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and perform on multiple contract-related tasks at the same time.

  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Experience with CLM systems is preferred.
