Data Center Mechanical Engineer

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of experience in mission-critical facility design and construction environments.
• 3 years of experience with mission-critical facilities and their mechanical infrastructure.
• 3 years of experience as a Technical Program Manager or Program Manager.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• Experience in estimating, design, operation, and commissioning of water treatment, cooling systems, and their control systems.
• Experience in design, construction, and commissioning of mega central utility buildings.
• Experience working with data center equipment and environments (e.g., switchgear, generators, transformers, controls, security monitoring systems, fire safety systems).

With your technical expertise, you ensure compliance with codes and standards, develop infrastructure improvements and serve as an expert in your specialty (e.g., cooling, electrical).

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$174,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. • Participate in project-specific design reviews at various stages (30%, 60%, 95%), focusing on constructibility, adherence to Google standards, and value engineering.
• Provide on-site support to construction teams and contractors, ensuring work is executed with a focus on quality, speed, and adherence to Google's standards.
• Support the commissioning of mechanical systems, ensuring they meet performance requirements and operational standards.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for mechanical systems, providing support to Data Center Operations teams throughout construction and post-occupancy.
