We are actively seeking a Waterfront Structural Engineer for The Woodlands (preferred) or Katy office. As the successful new hire, you will serve as a dedicated resource for Rehabilitation in Houston and the Southeast region, liaison between the offices, and provide the succession for our Rehabilitation Discipline Lead. This position may also support or consult on national and international rehabilitative projects. You will have an extensive Marine/Waterfront Structural background providing rehabilitation engineering, planning, design, and analysis activities for major waterfront, port, and maritime infrastructure projects.
You will be responsible for managing and implementing all phases of rehabilitation design for a broad range of marine infrastructure projects, including piers and repairs for the US Navy, large marine terminals, marinas, vessel mooring and berthing structures, bulkheads, breakwaters, shore protection, and storm/flood resiliency structures and more. You will have 15 to 20 years of experience working from conceptual development through the details of the rehabilitation design process. This position will serve as a senior engineer who will actively participate in structural design, perform design quality control, resolve technical matters, and engage with our clients to develop optimized design solutions.

Project management
Coordinate with structural design staff along with other firm-wide disciplines to meet project schedules and budgets
Production of schematic and detailed designs and evaluation of planning and concept alternatives
Development of contract documents, including construction drawings and technical specifications
Preparation of design reports
Preparation of proposals and direct interface with clients and agencies
Perform periodic site visits and attend client meetings
Assist with the training of the rehabilitation team
Work independently and collaboratively with local and firmwide team members
Mentoring of junior staff
Participating in office business development strategy and implementation

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline required; Master s degree in Structural Engineering preferred
15 to 20 years of structural design experience including waterfront infrastructure and marine environments. Ideal candidate will have experience both in new and rehabilitative design
Professional Engineer licensure in Texas is required or the ability to obtain via reciprocity within 6 months of hire
Project management experience
Familiar with ASCE MOP 130 and working knowledge of rehabilitation
Familiar with structural analysis and load paths
Experience effectively interacting with staff, vendors, clients and agencies
Experience with DoD or NAVFAC design and construction projects are desired
Possession of or eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
Eligibility to successfully pass background check to secure Department of Defense DBIDS card and other badges required by clients
Due to client requirements, selected candidate must consent to and a pass a post-offer/pre-employment drug screening
Due to client parameters, selected candidate must show (post offer) proof of U.S. citizenship and clear results of a thorough background check that may include but is not limited to credit and criminal history
Willingness to work at The Woodlands office at least 3 days per week is required
All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Physical requirements:
