Substation design engineer: $60k to $100k depending on experience and knowledge. Year-end bonus is possible depending on the annual success of the company and the individual's contribution to that success. MUST BE A US CITIZEN to apply.
Knowledge and experience in the following would be expected of a qualified applicant:
4-year engineering degree required. Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil engineering preferred.Power utility engineering background is preferredProfessional engineer preferred but not required. However, the individual must be willing to achieve a professional engineering license in the State of Texas in a reasonable amount of time.Application of standard 3-phase calculationsSpatial awareness and a strong mind for geometryConstruction background including but not limited to:Foundations, concrete and mix designs.Familiarity with the NESC, NEC, and IEEE standardsAbility to read steel assembly drawingsConduit and trenchingConductor and pipe bus applicationsApplication of wiring methods and NEC requirementsGrounding methods - knowledge of IEEE80 would be a plusKnowledge of protective relaying would be a plusHigh voltage and medium voltage equipment specifications and evaluationsConstruction and project managementGood oral and written communication skillsTeamwork oriented but able to work alone.Office and field work required. Working from home is not an option.Work well under pressureWilling to put in the time necessary to complete a design/job on timeAbility to accurately keep track of timePunctual to work, lunch breaks, and end of workday.
We can train someone for the items above, but the pay would be commensurate with the perceived knowledge and experience.
