Rancho California Water District proudly serves a dynamic and growing region of 160,000 residents across 100,000 acres, including Temecula, Murrieta, and surrounding communities. The District is well resourced and uniquely positioned to leverage a diverse operating portfolio consisting of a thriving Groundwater Basin, Treated and Untreated Import Supply, as well as administering the Santa Rosa Regional Resource Authority regionally managing wastewater in partnership with other agencies. Major upcoming initiatives include maximizing the 40,000AF Vail Lake asset in combination with the Groundwater Basin to reduce reliance on treated imported water.

The Position...
Rancho California Water District is looking for a dynamic Construction Contracts Manager, part strategist, part wrangler, and full-time champion of getting things done. We're looking for a construction-savvy leader with a project-first mindset and just the right mix of grit and grace.
This is more than a management role, its an opportunity to take ownership of how the Construction Management Division is led and operated. As a key member of the Engineering leadership team, you will oversee the execution of all Capital and Development projects, working closely with the Director to establish the standards, systems, and strategies that drive project success.
You will lead a skilled team of three Inspectors and a Contracts Administrator guiding a wide cast of contractors and consultants to deliver nearly $300 million in capital improvements over the next five years. Among these is the crown jewel, Vail Dam Replacement Project, one of the most significant infrastructure projects in the region, set to begin construction in 2026.

Qualification Guidelines...
The appropriate knowledge, skills and abilities can be achieved through a variety of combinations of experience and training. A typical example is:
- Five (5) or more years of progressive experience in construction management/inspection of public or private water and wastewater facilities
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience
- Professional Engineer issued by the state of California or Certified Construction Manager through the Construction Management Association of America, desirable
- Grade 2 Water Distribution certificate CDPH, desirable.
