SUMMARY
Plans, organizes and directs work of one or more survey parties engaged in surveying the earth's surface and spaces to determine precise location and measurements of points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours for construction, map making, land division, titles, mining or other purposes by performing the following duties. Primarily work as a one-person crew but has the ability to lead multiple crew members.
RequirementsPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Researches previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence, and other records to obtain data needed for surveys.
- Develops new data from photogrammetric records.
- Determines methods and procedures for establishing or reestablishing survey control.
- Keeps accurate and complete notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performed.
- Maintains equipment and vehicle that is assigned.
- Coordinates findings with work of engineering and architectural personnel, clients, and others concerned with project.
- Conducting activities of the crew as directed by the Project Manager.
- Operation and maintenance issues related to GPS equipment.
- Operation and maintenance issues related to robotic equipment.
- Operation and maintenance issues related to optical and digital levels.
- Instructing field crew members on proper procedures and methods.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Create field notes and sketches
- Assumes legal responsibility for work.
