POSITION SUMMARY
We are currently seeking a Wire and Cable Builder. In this role, you will cut and strip wires both with automated machinery and by hand, attach a variety of contacts including sockets, pins, lugs and drains, populate Mil-Spec connectors with Wire Assemblies and apply heat shrink and HFT to complete the assembly of cables and harnesses.
This position will support other manufacturing cells when there is a need for help. Activities that are commonly supported by this role are Laser Engraving, Label Printing, Electronic Assembly, Electronic Testing, and supporting Inventory & Shipping. All training is provided.
RequirementsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Use hand operated and pneumatic tools to attach contacts to stripped wires thus creating wire assemblies.
Use a heat gun to install components such as solder sleeves, heat shrink sleeves, etc.
Operate an automatic wire cutting machine, label printers, and other manufacturing equipment.
Build cable and harness assemblies following population programs and written instructions.
Install boots, tape, clamps, connectors, and various components used in standard cable building.
Populate pin and socket contacts into connectors using industry standard insertion tools.
Crosstrain and work in other departments (Assembly, Engraving, Inventory, Shipping, etc.) as work volume requires.
Follow written build procedures and supporting documents such as schematics, bills of material, master drawings, etc.
Perform other duties when assigned. These include, but are not limited to, cleaning, assisting other work cells, planned maintenance activities, training, and kaizen events.
Work in compliance with OSHA and MSDS safety policies.
Adhere to company practices regarding safety and control of electrostatic discharge (ESD).
QUALIFICATIONS
Familiarity with industry-standard measuring devices: Tape measures, calipers, multimeters, etc.
This position requires extreme attention to details. Products must be consistently built to the required standards.
Organized, punctual, pleasant demeanor, works well with a team.

Basic computer navigation skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Excellent hand-eye coordination
Ability to read and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

EXPERIENCE
Prior cable building, wire assembly, or electronics assembly experience is helpful but not required.
