System One is currently seeking a Senior Transmission Line Design Engineer on a 12 month contract position located in Forest Park, GA.

Transmission Line Design Engineer Responsibilities:

• Responsible for applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to design and construct high-voltage transmission lines (HVTL).
• Supports estimate preparation, develops design options, and prepares construction specifications.
• Provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors as they develop design solutions, cost estimates, and construction packages for outsourced line design jobs.
• Create a safe work environment by putting safety first
• Understand the process used for HVTL planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance
• Understand the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in HVTL design, construction, and maintenance
• Understand transmission line design practices and work processes, using all software applications used in HVTL design
• Understand Company design standards
• Support design standard and criteria development for the system
• Support construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations and during emergency restoration of failed equipment
• Provide quality assurance reviews for PLS-CADD line models and job construction package
• Estimate material for transmission projects, transmitting construction packages and supporting specifications.

Transmission Line Design Engineer Requirements:

• 10+ years of related experience
• An accredited bachelors degree or professional engineer license.
• Skillsets and expertise required for this position include advanced engineering knowledge
• Significant discretion making independent decisions based on procedure
• Proficient TLD software knowledge
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.
