The DSH-Metropolitan State Hospital is accepting applications for Carpenter I in the Plant Operations Department. This is a Permanent/Fulltime position.
Under the direction of the Carpenter Supervisor, Incumbents will erect, maintain, and repair various buildings and structures; make rough sketches and cost estimates; requisition stores and supplies; advise in the selection of building materials; keep records and make simple reports, and may instruct and lead unskilled assistants. To be considered for this job opportunity, applicants must have eligibility by way of: permanent civil service status, be reachable on an employment list, have transfer eligibility, or have reinstatement eligibility. Working ConditionsFace Coverings: While working on-site, employees must follow current face covering guidance as issued by CDPH.
The employee is required to work any shift and schedule in a variety of settings throughout the hospital and may be required to work overtime and float to other work locations as determined by the operational needs of the hospital.
