Position: Manager Limits of Authority (Primetals Technologies USA LLC; Alpharetta, GA)
Duties: This role requires the individual to lead and manage the end-to-end Bid process (LoA) for Iron and Steel plant projects in the United States. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of competitive, comprehensive, and compliant proposals by collaborating with cross-functional teams including technical engineering, logistics, legal, and finance. The role requires exceptional communication skills, as the individual will interact with global and regional CEOs and CFOs to present comprehensive aspects of the proposal, ensuring alignment and securing necessary approvals. This function is critical to the organization's success, directly influencing both revenue growth and profitability by ensuring market competitiveness to secure projects and execute them efficiently and profitably requiring exceptional managerial skills. Manage and drive the complete lifecycle of bid preparation, from initial inquiry to final submission, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality proposals. Review RFPs, RFQs, and other solicitation documents to identify key requirements and deliverables including: conducting market research to understand customer needs, competitor offerings, and industry trends to position proposals effectively; ensuring proposals meet all legal, financial, and operational compliance standards; and identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with the bids. Lead and mentor a cross-functional proposal team, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment with organizational goals, working closely with both regional and global HQ teams. Liaise with: Technical (engineering) Team to gather specifications, scope details, and technical inputs; Operations teams to plan and outline transportation, delivery timelines, and cost implications; Finance Team to develop accurate cost estimates, pricing models, and financial risk assessments; Legal Team to ensure contractual compliance, risk assessment, and adherence to regulatory requirements; and International Taxation Teams to ensure requirements & compliances in the respective country for both on shore and off shore counterparts. Act as the primary point of contact during the bidding process, ensuring clear and professional communication with internal stakeholders and customers, including: providing regular updates to senior management on bid progress, challenges, and strategic recommendations; Organizing and coordinating projects for weekly Segment/Regional/HQ LoA (Limits of Authority) meetings and provide business forecast for incoming orders validate timeline / value business targets vs. forecast & rolling forecast.
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelors degree or equivalent in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field plus 7 years of experience in negotiating and administering commercial contracts in the Metals industry [Employer will accept 2 years of Project Management experience as meeting the degree requirement.] OR Masters degree or equivalent in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field plus 5 years of experience in negotiating and administering commercial contracts in the Metals industry.
Skills required: Must have experience with: Experience with commercial contracts including reviewing terms and conditions. Experience redlining and negotiating complex terms and conditions. Knowledge of Commercial Project Management tools including SAP, and Project Profile. Experience developing and reviewing contract terms and conditions to ensure compliance and minimize company liability. Project execution experience in the metals industry.
