Position: Assistant Landscape Foreman
Description:
The Assistant Crew Leader will play a crucial role in assisting the Crew Leader in managing job sites, ensuring project efficiency, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. This position requires a hands-on approach with a strong background in various landscaping and hardscaping tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Jobsite Cleanup: Maintain cleanliness and organization of job sites to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Tree Staking and Installation: Assist with the proper staking and installation of trees according to project specifications.
- Bed Prep and Plant Installation: Prepare planting beds and install plants, ensuring proper placement and health.
- Sod Prep and Installation: Prepare areas for sod installation, including grading and soil preparation, and lay sod accurately.
- Truck and Machine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on trucks and machinery, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
- Excavator and Skid Steer Operation: Operate excavators and skid steers for various tasks, including digging, grading, and material handling.
- Hardscape Experience: Assist with the installation of hardscapes such as patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other structures.
- Irrigation Installation and Maintenance: Install and maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of landscapes.
- Grading: Perform grading tasks to prepare sites for planting, sod installation, and hardscaping projects.
- Transit Level Comprehension: Use transit levels to measure and ensure accurate grading and elevation of sites.
- Site Plan Comprehension: Read and interpret site plans to execute projects according to design specifications.
- Project Management Assistance: Support the Crew Leader in managing projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, and communication with clients and team members.
Experience:
- Proven experience in landscaping, hardscaping, and project management.
- Proficient in operating and maintaining landscaping machinery and equipment.
- Strong understanding of irrigation systems and installation techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret site plans and project specifications.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead by example.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols in a landscaping and construction environment.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy objects, digging, and operating machinery.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20-$22 per hour
Schedule/Location:
- Monday-Friday (occasional weekends)
- 10-hour shifts, 50 hours per week
- Our office in Fort Mill, SC
