Scope of Work:

The primary purpose of the position is to prepare facility/infrastructure repair and maintenance project documents and estimate resource requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for maintenance projects using blueprints, specifications, UPB, RS Means, and other pricing tools.
  • Review project scopes, site conditions, and contract documents to ensure accurate cost and schedule planning.
  • Participate in meetings and site visits to identify risks, clarify scope, and support planning.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes; ensure best value and pricing accuracy.
  • Coordinate with program management and external stakeholders on changes, field conditions, and project updates.
  • Track and report project progress, expenditures, and alignment with approved budgets.
  • Initiate purchase requisitions and support procurement processes.
  • Support the development of change orders, credit proposals, and field modifications.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify scope compliance and assist with closeout procedures.
  • Maintain cost databases, historical pricing logs, and standard estimating tools.
  • Support project billing, reporting, and RFI/submittal tracking.
  • Attend project meetings and final walkthroughs; assist with punch lists and acceptance.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 1-3 years experience supporting cost estimating in facilities maintenance or construction management, including the use of commercially available cost estimating tools and software, is desired.
  • Knowledge and understanding of facilities maintenance and/or construction gained in a journeyman-level position is desired.
  • Proficient in report writing and presentation skills to develop and brief projects.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance tasks, construction methods, and pricing references (e.g., RS Means, UPB).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 Public Trust background check, if required for the position.
  • Must be able to maintain the ability to access the government worksite.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer or desk.
  • Frequent use of hands for typing, data entry, and handling paperwork.
  • Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
