The Position: The Functional Technical SAP Architect is responsible for leading the design, implementation and optimization of SAP solutions for KAB business processes by translating organizational needs into effective functional requirements utilizing a blend of technical proficiency and business acumen. This role ensures that SAP solutions align with KAB strategic goals and operational requirements.

The Location: Hybrid combining working from home, and onsite in White River Junction VT up to 4 times per year.

The Pay: $117,800 to $159,000; commensurate with experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.

  • Translates complex business needs into clear, actionable Functional Specifications for SAP systems.

  • Leads the configuration and customization of SAP modules, ensuring solutions are optimized for performance and usability.

  • Identifies, troubleshoots, and tests RFCs (Remote Function Calls), APIs, and related integration technologies.

  • Leverages expertise in the SAP Data Dictionary to model, manage, and enhance data structures for various modules.

  • Provides technical guidance to development and support teams during implementation and post-go-live phases.

  • Ensures SAP system designs adhere to best practices, compliance standards, and company policies.

  • Acts as a liaison between business users and technical teams facilitating communication and alignment.

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of SAP trends, updates, and emerging technologies relevant to the organization.

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field and 7+ years of SAP technical and functional architecture experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • SAP Certification(s) in SD, MM and FICO modules or architecture preferred, such as cloud-based and hybrid architectures.

  • Deep experience configuring and customizing SD, MM and FICO modules within S/4HANA, as well as S/4HANA migrations or implementations.

  • Demonstrated expertise in Clean Core three tiers of extensibility and providing strategic recommendations for development methodologies.

  • Hands on experience with BTP technologies including Integration Suite, RFCs, APIs, and SAP integration technologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into comprehensive, actionable technical specifications and solutions utilizing Agile or other iterative development methodologies

  • Project management experience within SAP implementation environments is a plus.

  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong communication skills to engage and collaborate with business leaders, IT teams, and other stakeholders. Successfully, project manage the process through excellent interpersonal skills.

Work environment

  • Indoors, a normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, or temperature changes. This role operates in a professional office environment where most work is performed at a desk. A remote work environment that meets KAB standards for work.
