IT Procurement Architect - Innovator of Digital Procurement

Role Definition:

As an IT Procurement Architect, you will be at the forefront of transforming Indirect Procurement through innovative, enterprise-grade solutions. This role is a unique opportunity to shape how Caterpillar leverages technology to drive efficiency, compliance, and create business value.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide technical leadership when procurement applications are deployed.

  • Architect and deliver modern, scalable solutions across a portfolio of best-in-class platforms including Coupa, GEP, Beeline, and Concur.

  • Act as a strategic technology advisor, aligning procurement systems with enterprise goals while optimizing for performance, cost, and user experience.

  • Lead the integration strategy for procurement applications, ensuring seamless data flow across Caterpillar's ERP landscape using API, cloud-native, and data-driven approaches.

  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to create technical architecture to implement business processes.

  • Understand the flow of data and be a subject matter expert of the technologies used (ETL, API, Snaplogic, Snowflake, etc.)

  • Review and approve technical solutions developed by the team, while providing mentorship and guidance.

  • Adapt to specialized roles as needed to ensure successful delivery of project objectives.

  • Understand changes to regulatory laws then implement changes to systems as needed.

  • Work with suppliers to implement solutions including Saas based software.

  • Create and manage technical architecture.

What You Have:

  • Four-year bachelor's degree preferably in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field

  • Multiple years of IT experience

  • Experience in IT Architecture with demonstrated technical proficiency.

  • Experience with a multi-year and transformation project such as an ERP implementation

  • Experience with integration technologies such as snaplogic or API's

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Experience deploying and managing large enterprise solutions.

  • Knowledge of Caterpillar policies, standards, procedures, and data
  • Experience in business processes management
  • Experience with procurement processes
  • Experience or understanding of financial systems and controls at Caterpillar
  • Experience with any of the following applications: Coupa, GEP, Beeline
  • Strong accountability, planning/organization, teamwork, and customer focus
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills to deal with sensitive, emotional, or potentially controversial situations
  • Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints

elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.

System and Technology Integration: Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to

integrate and communicate among applications, databases, and technology platforms.

System Testing: Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system

testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.

Summary Pay Range:

$126,000.00 - $204,720.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
