The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $78,900 - $167,300 (Annual Rate).

Required Qualifications:- High school diploma and/or equivalent experience/education
- Two (2) years of experience as a journey-level skilled tradesperson in the appropriate craft, including one year in a supervisory capacity.
- Functional knowledge and skills in the specialty crafts supervised.
- Supervisory skills to include organization, scheduling, assigning work and ensuring quality standards are met.
- Skills to ensure quality standards are met and to actively promote and maintain safety standards.
- Skills to use a computer for recordkeeping and documentation of repairs and maintenance.
- Skills to effectively participate in the selection and evaluation of staff and to appropriately handle disciplinary issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access)
- Working knowledge of applicable building and safety codes
- Working Knowledge of Specialty Contracting C10, C60, C36, & C16
- Demonstrated theoretical and working knowledge of Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Sprinkler and HVAC Systems
- Knowledge of all applicable NPFA codes, building codes, safety requirements, and general maintenance policies and procedures
- Ability to supervise and conduct operating tests on system components, assuring that required adjustments or corrections are made for proper functioning.
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with campus departments at all levels, contractors and design consultants; ability to effectively interact with a diverse professional staff both independently and as a team member in a busy environment
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic calculations and reports
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and door schedules
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to understand written and oral instructions
- Able to analyze problems, determine solutions, and make decisions based on analysis
- Skill in supervising in union envirorment
- Ability to use planning and scheduling tools
- Journey person certification in skilled Electrical, Plumbing, Fitting, and/or HVAC field
- Management Certifications (IFMA, BOMI)
