Job Title: Cost Engineer
Job Description
As a Cost Engineer, you will collaborate closely with the Project Manager and team to ensure the effective input, monitoring, and implementation of the JDE Quantity Book. You will be responsible for drafting and reviewing project-related communications, assessing impacts of owner notices, and managing contract provisions. Your role will include overseeing the tracking and execution of project change requests, managing subcontract processes, and handling subcontractor payments. Additionally, you will manage the owner change directive process and contribute to monthly claims cost reporting.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and team for input, monitoring, and implementation of the JDE Quantity Book.
- Draft and review project-related communications, including letters and notices.
- Assess impacts of owner notices and document them for project team review.
- Develop and manage contract provisions with subcontractor terms and conditions.
- Maintain PCO tracking and execute project change requests from inception to final execution.
- Manage subcontract processes, including cost evaluations, estimating, negotiations, and preparation for review.
- Handle subcontractor payments and required documentation.
- Oversee owner change directive processes with cost evaluations, estimating, and negotiations.
- Prepare monthly claims cost reports.
- Conduct internal and external cost reporting for all Potential Change Orders (PCOs).
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in cost engineering, cost analysis, or financial management for construction infrastructure or building projects.
- Proficient in cost management software (Procore) and HCSS cost estimating tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience working with heavy construction projects.
- Excellent written and verbal skills in construction management and cost analysis.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with heavy civil and infrastructure projects.
- Experience with estimation, heavy civil, HCSS HeavyBid, Primavera, Procore, and civil construction.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
