EXPERIENCE/ TRAINING:
- Must meet all Core Job Specifications.
- Must have completed a recognized carpentry apprentice program or technical school or have five years of experience as a journeyman carpenter.
- Must be skilled in the operation of hand and power woodworking tools and be cognizant of necessary safety precautions to protect personnel, materials, and equipment.
SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interprets blueprints, rough sketches, and must have expertise in the selection of proper material, tools, and equipment to accomplish an assigned task.
- Exercises safe work practice and performs work with the use of power tools, such as circular and band saws, planers, sanders, chisels, etc., to perform operations such as cutting, shaping, assembling, fastening, finishing, installation of doors, windows, moldings, concrete forms, scaffolding sets, door jambs, and window frames. Installs hardware on doors, cabinets, etc.
- Installs various ceiling materials and floor coverings, drywall, drywall finishing, and pre-finished wall coverings.
- Performs framing with wood and metal components.
- Implements sound framing techniques and structural construction practices.
- Participates in safety meetings, adhering to all safety procedures, and continued vigilance for unsafe conditions in accordance with all contract, state, federal, and local laws and regulations. Responsible and accountable for being good stewards of the environment. They shall learn and understand environmental responsibilities and how their job may impact the environment and what measures can be taken to lessen environmental impacts.
- Individual must be willing to perform emergency overtime services on weekends and Holidays, during normal hours and after normal working hours when determined necessary by management.
