BOOK YOUR VIRTUAL INTERVIEW TODAY use this link to book: Job Title: Marine Electrician Lead Job Description We are seeking a full-time experienced Marine Electrician Lead who will lead and be actively involved in projects related to upgrading and developing new electrical systems for marine vessels and floating structures, such as cargo ships, fishing vessels, barges, and tugs. The incumbent will serve as the Electrician of Record (EoR), taking responsibility for all assigned projects from the RFQ stage to the final install, testing, and compliance stages. This role requires the ability to deliver projects that meet all quality standards and align with client specifications, often within tight timelines. Projects will include a wide range of electrical jobs such as vessel shore power work, alternative marine power, mobile crane electrical supply, hydraulic systems, communication systems, terminal wide power systems, and gate systems. Additionally, the company undertakes custom-built switchboard projects like elevator control panels and emergency switchboards. Responsibilities Lead and manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with quality standards and client specifications. Install, maintain, and operate electrical equipment and apparatus aboard commercial ships such as tugboats, container ships, and barges. Troubleshoot and repair marine electrical systems including VFDs and CCTV installations. Plan projects by scoping the work, acquiring the necessary materials, and executing the plan effectively. Pull and install cabling throughout ships, ensuring all installations meet safety and regulatory standards. Supervise and guide crew members, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. Ensure adherence to industry standard safety protocols, including OSHA regulations and lock-out, tag-out procedures. Essential Skills Experience in marine electrician work, particularly in shipyards. Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing marine electrical systems. Knowledge of intermediate to advanced electrical theory and the use of a multimeter. Mathematical skills including multiplication, division, and understanding of fractions. Ability to interpret schematics and circuit diagrams. Experience with 480VAC 3-Phase distribution systems, both grounded and ungrounded. Proficiency in designing, building, installing, and troubleshooting motor controllers. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and Soft Starters. Experience with CCTV installations across marine vessels. Ability to conduct basic load calculations and apply Ohm's Law. Familiarity with metric and standard measuring systems and ability to convert between them.
