Facilities Maintenance Mechanic - Electrician Fareva is currently seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Mechanic - Electrician to join our team in Richmond, VA Who we are: Fareva is a leading contract manufacturer of pharmaceutical and personal care products. Comfortable climate-controlled facility covering over 745,000 square feet. About the role: Individual will serve as Facilities Maintenance Electrician for the Facility Maintenance Electrical Work Group. Responsibilities for performing electrical repair and other related tasks supporting site maintenance and services. Following current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and adheres to all appropriate Fareva Richmond Inc.'s standard operating procedures (SOP) and environmental, health and safety-related policies. Job Responsibilities: Perform periodically tests all electrical components of safety systems, following Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules, singularly or as a team with other trades as assigned. Able to locate information in operator equipment manuals. I must be able to effectively communicate and coordinate the shutdown of equipment for maintenance. Fully trained in the use of test equipment: ohm meter, megger, amp meter, voltage meter. Knowledgeable of various industrial electrical systems: variable speed drives; motor control centers; heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) controls; process controls; building automation systems; power distribution panels; transformers; and service equipment. Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment following FAREVA, Richmond, VA. SOP, national electrical code (NEC), manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications, and safe electrical practices. This includes but is not limited to installation of electrical metallic tubing, rigid metal conduit; calculation of conduit fit; properly sizing conductors, properly de-rating conditions based on conduit fill; calculating voltage drop. Able to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervision the status and concerns of critical equipment. Responsible for the inspection and testing of fire protection (FP) procedures in accordance with National Fire Protection Association requirements, FAREVA insurance standards and Environmental Health procedures, and FP codes local to the Richmond, VA. area. Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures using test equipment, and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables using hand tools Works together as a team with other trades as assigned. Able to work assist other groups in bringing failed equipment back online. Performs other electrical duties as requested by senior electrician(s) and/or the Electrical Work Group Leader, including but not limited to driving company vehicles to off-site locations to obtain/deliver equipment and/or parts. Requirements: Education and experience High School diploma or equivalent Virginia State Journeyman's card preferred Ability to work independently or in work groups 5+ Years of experience performing maintenance mechanical tasks Candidate will be required to work when needed Occasionally candidates will be required to be on-call for work Skills and abilities: Basic computer skills, familiar with BAS operating systems.
