Senior Mechanical Estimator (Multiple Positions), Tesla, Inc., Austin, TX:

Understand, develop, compile, and present high-level cost estimates for multiple large- and small-scale projects at Tesla, from Labs, Manufacturing Facilities, Workplace Environments, and associated utilities that support these functions. Ability to create detailed cost estimates with Conceptual / Schematic Designs and as design develops. Clearly communicating with various stakeholders on cost drivers and value engineering opportunities across all trades. Use efficient and aesthetic communication methods to escalate risks and communicate opportunities. Employ a can-do attitude, ensuring all stakeholders are engaged and aligned to the program goals. Develop estimates for self-performing design and construction organization. Support the implementation of earned value management tracking across all internal performed projects. Assist in the continued development of long-term strategy on estimation methodology, tool, and systems for CAPEX projects.

Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Engineering, Business or a related field and 5 years of progressive post-bachelors related experience.

Alternatively, will accept a Masters degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Engineering, Business or a related field and 3 years of related experience.

Must have 3 years of experience in construction estimation, planning, and scheduling within an industrial environment.

Must have 3 years of experience in large manufacturing, commercial and/or industrial construction projects.

Must have 3 years of experience with estimation.

Must have 3 years of experience in estimation with Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical and life safety systems.

Must have 3 years of experience with unit rates, productivity rates, labor costs and CSI coding systems.

Must have 3 years of experience in value engineering and cost modelling with fast turnaround results.
