We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to lead our Mechanical Design group, with a strong focus on 3D modeling, product development, and cross-functional collaboration. This role is ideal for a technically proficient engineer with leadership capabilities who thrives in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment. You will play a critical role in driving mechanical design excellence, mentoring team members, and supporting product development from concept to production.

What will you do?
  • Lead and manage the Mechanical Design team, providing technical direction, mentorship, and performance feedback to foster a high-performing engineering culture.
  • Develop and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using Creo, ensuring accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with design standards.
  • Oversee the mechanical design process from concept through production, balancing performance, cost, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Project Management, and other plant locations to support standardization and design alignment.
  • Conduct design reviews, perform tolerance stack-up analysis, and run FEA simulations to validate mechanical integrity and ensure robust product performance.
  • Manage engineering documentation, including BOMs, design specifications, and change control records within PLM systems (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter).
  • Support prototype development, including hands-on involvement in builds, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems to verify design intent and resolve issues.
  • Champion continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance design processes, implement new tools, and streamline team workflows for increased efficiency and innovation.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design, product development, or related engineering roles.
  • Proven experience leading or mentoring engineering teams in a manufacturing or product development environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and drafting using Creo (or similar tools like SolidWorks or NX).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience conducting tolerance analysis, FEA simulations, and design reviews.
  • Familiarity with PLM systems for managing BOMs, design documentation, and change control (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter).
