A Construction Manager is needed for a leading global engineering, consulting and construction company in the Overland Park, KS area. This is for an experienced Construction Manager with a minimum of 10 years of experience, including managing a large union craft, and strong skills in scheduling, budgeting, and project coordination to oversee all on-site activities and ensure project completion according to safety, quality, and budget standards.

responsibilities:
- Project Coordination: Oversee all on-site construction activities, making sure the project schedule, budget, safety, and quality standards are met.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor superintendents and coordinate all on-site subcontractor activities, ensuring they comply with their contracts and the project's construction plan.
- Performance & Reporting: Monitor and report on construction productivity and schedule performance to project managers.
- Financial Oversight: Take actions to meet the project budget and schedule. This includes directing subcontractor recovery plans and managing labor and equipment budgets.
- Collaboration: Work with material managers, safety, and quality teams to resolve issues, review materials, and assist with client relations.
- Communication: Conduct weekly meetings with subcontractors and superintendents to report on progress.
- Project Closeout: Coordinate final walkdowns, hand over start-up packages, and supervise the completion of punch list items.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to all safety, quality, and ethical standards, and act as the on-site safety representative when needed.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years in Combined Cycle or relevant Industrial Construction, with experience managing 400+ direct-hire union crafts.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Technical Skills: The ability to create and manage schedules for large-scale projects.
- Certifications: OSHA training is a plus.
- Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of various construction technologies (e.g., Simple Cycle, Combined Cycle), the EPC industry, and project management systems.
- Soft Skills: strong leadership, conflict management, presentation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Physical Demands: The job requires physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, and working in varying conditions.
