Electrical Superintendent

An Electrical Superintendent is needed for a leading global engineering, consulting and construction company in the Overland Park, KS area. This position requires a minimum of three years of experience as a Superintendent and a required OSHA 40-hour certification for an individual skilled in union relations, leadership, and project management to ensure the successful execution of daily project work and adherence to safety and quality standards.

responsibilities:

• Ensure all site personnel and craft adhere to company safety, quality, ethical standards, and performance management programs.
  
  
• Report any inappropriate conduct to the Construction Manager and Safety Manager.
  
  
• Monitor and report on construction activities for compliance with the CPM schedule, track activity completion, and develop a 3-Week Look-Ahead Schedule.
  
  
• Partner with subcontractors and other superintendents to resolve issues related to drawings, schedule, quality, and safety.
  
  
• Monitor discipline-specific construction productivity, progress, and cost, and take necessary actions to maintain targets.
  
  
• Verify all required material, manpower, and other resources are on-site to support the schedule.
  
  
• Maintain a daily site log, review subcontractor timesheets and payment requests, and prepare extra work authorization requests.
  
  
• Communicate and coordinate work plans, monitor compliance with subcontract scope and schedule, and develop strong working relationships.
  
  
• Provide supervision, training, and performance management to direct reports.

Skills:

• Experience with setting large electrical equipment (PDC, GSU, UAT, ISO Phase), cable management, terminations, and building work packages.
  
  
• Ability to create and manage large-scale project schedules, understand budgets, and perform cost control.
  
  
• OSHA 10 certification, knowledge of LOTO procedures, and proficiency in construction safety.
  
  
• Experience managing 50+ direct hire union craft, with strong abilities in leadership, conflict management, and problem-solving.

Education and Experience:

• Engineering or Construction Management degree preferred.
  
  
• Contract Administration training and qualification preferred.
  
  
• 3+ years experience as Superintendent on similar projects in supervisory role or equivalent.
  
  
• Minimum 10 years in Industrial Construction.
