Maintenance Mechanic

Seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to maintain, repair, and inspect mechanical systems with focus on steam boilers and auxiliary components. Ensure safe and efficient operation of pumps, valves, compressors, fans, plumbing, and other critical equipment.

• Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on building systems
• Operate and maintain steam boilers and auxiliary components
• Perform chemical analyses of boiler water and take corrective actions
• Maintain plumbing systems, fixtures, and storm water systems
• Repair various equipment including pumps, motors, and compressors
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and generate performance reports
• Follow safety protocols including OSHA standards and Lockout/Tagout procedures
• Communicate with building occupants and coordinate with vendors

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years' experience in facilities maintenance
• Knowledge of building systems and steam distribution systems
• Proficiency with hand and power tools
• Blueprint reading and technical manual interpretation
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• OSHA Safety Certification
• Valid driver's license

• Associate's degree in HVAC or related field
• Advanced certifications for medium/high-pressure steam systems
• Forklift operation certification
• Building automation systems experience
• 5+ years commercial building maintenance experience

Location: Onsite (East Syracuse, NY)

Schedule: 1st shift - Flexible hours (7am to 3:30pm) w/ OT

Compensation:

Start: $36.35/hr

16 weeks: $37.77/hr

6 months: $37.83/hr
