Position Overview:
HM Cragg is an 100% employee-owned company with an extremely impressive growth history. As a Journeyman Electrician, you will be responsible for installation, maintenance and repair projects of electrical systems and components specifically focused on the Telecommunications, Wireless, Utility and UPS markets.
Reporting Relationship: The Journeyman Electrician will report to the Service Manager.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
· Perform skilled electrical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems for building & grounds
· Perform the installation of transformers, control boards, electronic circuits, circuit breakers, switches, fuses, and related electrical equipment
· Perform installations of backup generator systems
· Determine modifications required when obstructions are met while installing electrical systems
· Read electrical blueprints, plans, and schematics.
· Develops strong line of communication with Electrical Manager/Master Electrician and within all departments utilizing electrical service
· Ability to work from wiring diagrams, schematics, sketches, blueprints, and/or verbal instructions
· Proficient in the use of standard electrician's tools and measuring/testing instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter
· Perform other duties and assignments as necessary
Requirements:
Skills/Knowledge
· Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code and commercial/industrial electrical best practices, switchgear & control, and UPS industries
· Strong knowledge of generators, transfer switches, and distribution equipment
· Knowledge of electrical principles, applications, techniques, procedures, code, and equipment
· Knowledge of local and national electrical code
· Demonstrates proper use of material handling equipment
· Proactively stays up to date on safety training, compliance, and knowledge of HAZ MAT and DOT requirements
· Adheres to company policies as stated in the Employee Handbook and Safety Policy

· Up to 75% depending on customer needs
Posting Qualifications:
· Licensed or the ability to be licensed in: IA, MN, ND, SD, WI, NE
· Ability to work at various heights
· Ability to lift items greater than 25lbs (and up to 150 lbs.) repetitively on a regular basis
· Ability to maintain a valid driver's license
· Must pass a physical exam, background check and pre-employment drug screening
