- Develop relationships with contract crew foremen and managers to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Build relationships with local representatives unfamiliar with fiber optic construction or materials.
- Observe underground installation and make sound business decisions regarding authorizing hourly vs. unit-based invoicing.
- Verify progress and quality of construction, reporting back to corporate representatives.
- Assist in developing workload forecasts and crew location assignments to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor material usage and staging to ensure availability in correct places, in adequate quantities, and timely for productivity.
- Produce and edit various spreadsheets and electronic reports to monitor and forecast project progress.
- Travel extensively and work remotely using provided laptop and connectivity.
- Report to Corporate Headquarters at scheduled intervals to report and consult.
- Experience in construction, construction management, and project management.
- Knowledge in power delivery, telecommunications, electrical design, and project coordination.
- Field operations experience in construction settings related to fiber optics or utility distribution.
- Understanding of safety and operational performance.
- Experience with applying and managing performance to applicable regulations (OSHA, ADEM, MUTCD, City).
- Skill in contractor invoicing.
- Experience with general utility support within the footprint with a telecommunications
- Power utilities experience is a nice-to-have.
The role predominantly involves fieldwork, managing and inspecting projects. Occasionally, you will report to corporate for progress meetings. Expect variable working hours, with up to 40 hours a week and sometimes abbreviated hours. You will travel extensively, and overnight stays may be required based on your location.
