PSNS- EPA Refrigeration Mechanic**

**Job Description**

As a Refrigeration Mechanic, you will be responsible for installing and constructing various components within Navy ships, including bulkheads, ceiling panels, doors, windows, and more. You will work with large sheet metal pieces, valves, and other internal components, ensuring adherence to Navy standards and blueprints. Additionally, you will assist in the installation of insulation for floors, ceilings, and walls.

**Responsibilities**

+ Read and understand blueprint layouts, assembly, and installation requirements.

+ Fabricate, assemble, modify, install, and repair sheet metal products such as shipboard ventilation systems, metal partitions, doors, and custom-made parts.

+ Utilize knowledge of sheet metal properties, tools, equipment, and shop mathematics.

+ Operate metalworking machines and measure with precision instruments.

+ Set up and operate machine tools like press brakes, shears, punches, rollers, and plasma machines.

+ Utilize hand tools such as grinders, drills, rivet guns, saws, calipers, and combination squares.

+ Verify conformance of fabricated items to blueprint specifications.

+ Work with Tac welding and large sheet-metal pieces.

**Essential Skills**

+ Ability to read and understand blueprints.

+ Experience with sheet metal fabrication and repair.

+ Knowledge of shop mathematics and principles.

+ Proficiency in operating metalworking machines.

+ Minimum of 2-5 years of shipboard installation/repair experience.

+ Experience working in a shipyard/ship repair environment.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Ability to obtain and maintain Military Base Access.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
