If youre passionate about this we want to hear from you About the Role MWH Constructors Inc a global leader in heavy civil construction of water and wastewater facilities is seeking a Lead Estimator to support preconstruction efforts on critical water wastewater and advanced water treatment plant projects for both municipal and industrial clients including advanced technology sector clients based out of the Tampa FL metropolitan area The Lead Construction Estimator will prepare cost estimates at different levels of design for various delivery systems such as Construction Manager at Risk and Design Build Projects will consist of wastewater treatment facilities potable water treatment facilities hydropower facilities fisheries pipelines and various water infrastructure ranging from 50 500 million dollars Essential Functions Review solicitation documents such as specifications and drawings to identify risks and opportunities related to competitive pricingPrepare cost estimates on proposals projects and studies and ensure that the content of the estimate is complete accurate and meets the requirements of the estimate qualificationsCoordinate and review the variable estimating factors in each area with Engineering Procurement and OperationsProvide technical advice and assistance to the Estimating Team in the preparation of all levels of estimates ranging in scope and complexityAssist the estimating team with an independent assessment of an estimates accuracy upon completion of the estimate and summarization of all detailed man hours material construction and home office costsCoordinate the performance of pricing structure development and application to takeoffs derived quantities quantity assumption and cost allowancesObtain and verify construction quotations for facilitation of construction projects addendas and contract changesObtain and verify subcontractor questions for construction projects and ensures compliance with construction documentsCompile and analyze bids Must be able to understand and help develop Work Breakdown Structure Codes Cost and Resource LoadingDevelop reports for all review processesProvide constructability reviews and guidance to the operations team to ensure the preliminary costs of the projectsActively research solicit and develop a network of relationships within the supply chainReview and incorporate historical data from purchase orders subcontractors and productivity analysis reports in order to continuously improve estimating accuracyBasic Qualifications 10 years of relevant construction experience of which 5 plus years of estimating experiencePrevious experience on heavy construction projects or industrial projectsPossess a 4 year Construction Management Engineering degree or equivalent field experience in construction project environmentsWorking knowledge of construction equipment and techniques drawings and specifications building materials and required standards applicable to discipline desirableInterfaces and communicates effectively with othersMust be proficient in using MS Word and ExcelPreferred Qualifications 10 years of relevant estimating experience including waterwastewater treatment facilitiesField experienceKnowledge or experience in CMAR Design Build and Hard Bid estimatesCost control and scheduling exposure is a plusHCSS Heavybid estimating software knowledge is a
