  • How you would make an impact/key responsibilities: *

Join the dynamic MMSI team as a TPP Heavy Equipment Mechanic! This position is located at Kings Bay, GA.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • The TPP Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible to the Project Manager for the following:

Possess required general experience in vessel wiring, electronics, mechanical repairs, pipe fitting and mechanical shop fundamentals.

  • Perform Structural repair and cutting on ferrous and nonferrous materials.
  • Perform repair and Diagnostics of Marine Electrical Equipment and Systems including Northern Lights or other makes of generators.
  • Removal and installation of MTU Detroit Diesel Engines, Cummins diesel engines, Mercury outboard engines, ZF transmissions, and Hamilton Jet propulsion systems, for overhaul or repair.
  • Aluminum repairs on vessel hulls and other items.
  • Rebuilding of upper and lower ends on diesel and gas engines.
  • Conduct mooring, fendering, pumping out and fueling vessels.
  • Possess a very strong attention to quality work and detail.
  • Possess professional written and oral communication skills.
  • Be organized and keep a clean work area.
  • Be able to work independently or with a team.
  • Be able to work in indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Must have and be responsible for your own tools.

Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain and hold a security clearance. Drug and background check will be required.
  • Ability to obtain a Kings Bay Access badge. Valid driver's license is required.
