**Job Description**

The welder will operate general hand tools such as grinders, drills, impacts, and read a tape measure and use a weld thickness gauge. The role involves operating an overhead crane/hoist to move material ranging from 2 feet to 20 feet long, weighing up to 10,000 lbs. Additionally, the welder may operate a sit-down forklift to transport similar materials. Minor fabrication assembly using a fixture will be performed, along with recording various data such as APU, scrap sheets, and quality control documents. The welder is also responsible for performing 6S duties within their area of responsibility.

**Responsibilities**

+ Operate general hand tools including grinders, drills, and impacts.

+ Read and interpret tape measures and use weld thickness gauges.

+ Operate overhead cranes/hoists to move large materials.

+ Operate sit-down forklifts to transport materials.

+ Perform minor fabrication assembly using a fixture.

+ Record data including APU, scrap sheets, and quality control documents.

+ Perform 6S duties within the area of responsibility.

**Essential Skills**

+ 2 years of mig welding experience.

+ Strong mechanical aptitude, preferably with structural or large equipment.

+ Knowledge of welding techniques and safety standards.

+ Blueprint reading and fabrication skills.

+ 2 years of on-the-job training.

**Work Environment**

The position is based in a manufacturing setting with 40 total employees, working in groups of two or independently. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Personal protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, ear plugs, welding helmets, and welding gloves are provided and required.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $21.63 - $21.63/hr.
