Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Mechanical Design Engineer, where you will contribute to the design and development of innovative products, solutions, and systems. In this role, you will focus on the technical improvement of existing products and components, impacting departmental operations and planning execution. While you will have some autonomy, your work will primarily involve executing activities within established functional practices and procedures, with guidance where necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Create definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies using 2D cross-sections, 3D models, tolerance stack-ups, and various electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline, utilizing prior experience and technical expertise to execute policy and strategy.
  • Understand key business drivers and use this understanding to accomplish your work and integrate team efforts with broader organizational goals.
  • Exercise judgment and propose solutions within set parameters, leveraging prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks.
  • Access technical skills and analytic thinking to solve problems, and utilize multiple internal sources to make informed decisions.
  • Provide informal guidance to new team members and contribute as an individual contributor with strong interpersonal skills, potentially taking on early people leadership responsibilities.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in NX CAD.
  • Experience designing aerospace or industrial starters and gears or splines.
  • Skilled in assembly components and layouts.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Established project management skills.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
Work Environment

You will work in a collaborative environment where technical skills and analytic thinking are crucial. The role may involve access to various electronic data formats and requires strong problem-solving abilities. This position is suitable for an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can provide guidance to new team members.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $58.00/hr.
