Electrical Quality Control Manager
Job Description

The Electrical Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring all electrical quality assurance and control measures are upheld throughout the construction and commissioning phases. This role involves technical expertise and proactive coordination to maintain compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, while supporting energization readiness and equipment integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret electrical system designs, schematics, and project specifications for compliance and constructability.
  • Identify, document, and track discrepancies in wiring components or installation methods versus approved drawings.
  • Conduct regular on-site QC inspections and walkthroughs to verify adherence to project plans and UL standards.
  • Perform audits of subcontractor MV Terminations through snapshots and videos to ensure compliance with manufacturer requirements.
  • Participate in weekly QA/QC meetings with the General Contractor, commissioning calls, constructability reviews, and pre-installation meetings.
  • Review and comment on submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and change orders to ensure compliance with design and specification requirements.
  • Collaborate with GC and subcontractors' QA/QC managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve quality-related field issues.
  • Document field conditions, non-conformances, and punch list items and follow up to ensure timely resolution.
  • Submit detailed QA/QC reports, including photographs and supporting documentation as needed.
  • Provide recommendations for quality improvements and best practices based on inspections, specification review, and field observations.
  • Maintain clear and proactive communication of findings, status updates, and technical recommendations to project teams.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continued learning and development and implementation of best-in-class QA/QC practices.
Essential Skills
  • Experienced in DC construction and commissioning, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Proficient in interpreting electrical drawings and verifying design compliance.
  • Led commissioning, inspection, and validation of electrical infrastructure.
  • Managed NCRs, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to improve quality.
  • Participated in internal/external quality and safety audits.
  • Supervised and mentored multidisciplinary teams on quality procedures.
  • Well-versed in industry codes and standards (NFPA, NEC, TIA-942).
  • Handled project documentation, reporting, and stakeholder coordination.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Preferable 10 years of experience, but 6+ years of experience is acceptable.
  • NFPA 70E, NAQE certifications are required; an electrical degree is helpful but not mandatory if the candidate has the right experience.
  • Mission-critical projects experience is essential.
  • Construction safety certifications such as OSHA10 and OSHA30 are beneficial.
  • Experience as a Construction Manager for Electrical is preferred.
  • Skilled in handling project documentation and reporting.
  • Adaptable, dependable, and able to multitask effectively.
  • Familiar with UL standards and proficient in using computers.
Work Environment

The role involves working in a dynamic construction environment, requiring a strong field presence. The position demands adherence to industry safety standards and involves regular interaction with project teams and stakeholders.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $57.00 - $67.00/hr.
