We accept applications on an ongoing basis. Where You Will Work Operate diesel Load-Haul-Dump (LHD) unit in production setting. Move broken rock from draw point to ore pass and maintain roadways. Assemble, transport, and place explosives for the purpose of cave development or secondary oversize blasting Operate concrete batching equipment or placing concrete using diesel equipment (pumps, sprayers) and manual tools (shovels, screed boards) Operate diesel-hydraulic drills to drill blast holes and/or install ground support Participate in planning jobs, ordering materials, and auditing results Manage distribution of explosives from magazine. Perform inventories, verify requisition paperwork, and issue/receive explosives. Operate various equipment to perform special projects and/or housekeeping work. Perform other duties as requested, including acting as lead or relief supervisor as needed Minimum 2 years experience in underground mining industry with experience operating mining-specific equipment (LHDs, drills, etc) and using explosives. Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety Candidates must meet requirements of US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (BATF) regulations: Must be a U.S. Citizen or National Must qualify to hold an employee possessor clearance for handling explosives from the BATF by passing a BATF clearance screen post hire. Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in English Prior underground experience at Henderson Mine, including other operating/maintenance departments Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
