DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role involves active participation in a comprehensive, structured training program designed to enhance skills in various analytical, preventative maintenance, and repair tasks related to construction equipment, trucks, and automobiles that operate on gasoline or diesel engines. Under the mentorship of supervisors, managers, and experienced staff, the individual will engage in hands-on learning experiences that cover the full spectrum of maintenance and repair responsibilities. This training not only aims to develop technical proficiency but also emphasizes the importance of safety and efficiency in the workplace. As the trainee progresses, they will gain valuable insights into troubleshooting techniques, routine inspections, and the implementation of best practices in equipment care, ultimately preparing them for a successful career in the field.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment.
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years as a Tradesman Helper (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
working in the automotive field; or
Graduation from a post-high school diesel technology curriculum of an accredited trade or technical school; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Conditions of Employment:
Certain positions may require employees to possess an active Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's Permit or License on the first day of employment.
Certain positions may require employees to possess an active Medical Examiner's Certificate in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations on the first day of employment.
Employees may be required to obtain and maintain CDL endorsements and certifications necessary to operate specific pieces of equipment.
All positions will require employees to obtain a valid Pennsylvania Class 1, 4, or 7 Inspection Mechanic Certification during the probationary period.
All positions require operation of vehicles or equipment with a manual transmission.
Certain positions will require employees to pass the Department of Transportation's New Mechanic Training course during the probationary period.
This position is subject to Drug and Alcohol testing in accordance with Federal Regulations.
Additional Requirement:
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
