Responsibilities

  • Provides direction and supervision to five positions, including a Maintenance Supervisor, within the University Housing carpentry shop. This includes training, hiring, advising with hiring, and performing performance evaluations as necessary. Monitors the maintenance needs of the Residence Halls and ensures work is completed in a timely manner. Coordinates completion of projects and work requests. Oversees the functional areas of locksmith, painting, cabinet making, VCT, ceramic tile, automatic door openers, and exterior door repair, including door access systems, and sign making. Ensures proper techniques, equipment and supplies are utilized by staff.
  • Coordinate with Associate Director renovation and new construction projects with areas of doors, locks, hardware, paintings, showers fabrication and flooring products.
  • Coordinates summer painting program with the use of outside contracts. Specifies materials to use, procures resources, and works with other dept/university procurement staff. Works closely with dept Interior Designer and other housing facilities staff. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and four years experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to four years.
  • A valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver's License or ability to obtain upon hire.
