Job Type Full-time Description I. Summary:

Senior Project Managers are instrumental in overseeing and coordinating the successful completion of single or multiple construction projects. Their primary focus is on delivering projects on time, within budget, ensuring profitability, and adhering to specified quality standards. SPMs serve as BIG Construction's representative on the Owner-Architect-BIG team, demonstrating leadership in training, mentoring, and coaching Project Managers (PMs) and Project Engineers (PEs). The role involves protecting and promoting the interests of BIG Construction in all matters, fostering positive relationships within the Project Team, and making strategic decisions that impact customer relationships and project profitability.

II. Key Responsibilities:

Lead large-sized project teams profitably and on schedule, while also managing multiple small- and medium-sized project teams.

Lead preconstruction activities including estimating, operations planning, and scheduling.

Oversee and coordinate the successful completion of construction projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in alignment with quality standards.

Facilitate weekly project meetings with BIG team members, ensuring internal coordination on topics critical to project success.

Conduct in-person site visits at least once per week to maintain visibility, assess progress, ensure alignment with project plans, and provide on-the-ground support to field teams.

Provide strategic insight on the construction close-out process, identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvement.

Ensure timely coordination between project management and accounting personnel to maintain accurate project financials.

Lead internal committees focused on BIGs processes and process improvement initiatives.

Ensure projects receive routine and thorough safety inspections.

Regularly allocate time to developing people at all performance levels. Seek opportunities to stretch, grow, and promote diverse talent. Mentor and coach direct reports and foster their ability to mentor others.

Direct the training and development of personnel for future management and supervisory roles.

Participate in recruiting activities, including identifying industry candidates and participating in interviews to support team-building efforts.

Influence prospective clients and partners by articulating BIGs services, value, and competitive differentiators. Represent BIG in industry, community, and charitable events to increase brand awareness.

Develop strong relationships with clients and architects, enhancing opportunities for further negotiated work.

Understand and negotiate contract terms with clients and partners.

Support Business Development with market insights and participate in new project pursuits and client interviews.

Foster career development by understanding employees' developmental interests, providing tactful feedback, and removing barriers to growth.

Maintain a positive work atmosphere through effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements III. Qualifications & Experience Requirements:

Bachelors degree.

10+ years of experience in construction or project management.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Proven track record of producing exceptional fees across multiple years.

Respected in the industry and known for high performance delivery.

IV. Knowledge and Skills:

Strong written and verbal communication.

Ability to build and maintain positive interpersonal relationships.

Innovative in applying management techniques to improve team performance.

Thorough understanding of industry practices, contracts, and compliance standards.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and presentation tools.

Strong reasoning, negotiation, and persuasion skills.

VI. Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Regular communication with internal and external stakeholders, sometimes outside regular hours.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

VII. Physical Demands:

Ability to remain seated for most of the day operating a computer, phone, and other equipment.
Occasionally lift/move up to 40 lbs.

VIII. Working Conditions/Environment:

May require extended hours, including nights and weekends.
Must be able to travel to job sites within a 100-mile radius.
