Are you a seasoned Master Electrician with a passion for leading high-performing teams and keeping critical infrastructure running smoothly? Brandeis University is seeking an experienced Supervisor , Electrical Services to oversee and coordinate operations of our Electrical Services Groupensuring uninterrupted, safe, and efficient power to more than 100 buildings across our vibrant campus.
This is more than just a maintenance role. You will be a key leader responsible for high-voltage distribution systems, fire and alarm systems, generators, emergency lighting, and more. From overseeing preventive maintenance and shutdowns to directing outside contractors and reviewing construction specs, your work will directly support the safety, sustainability, and daily operations of a top-tier university.
What You Will Do:
Lead: Supervise and support the electrical team, manage department budgets, assign work orders via CMMS (Maximo), and ensure timely payroll submission.
Oversee Critical Systems: Manage in-house and contracted maintenance of all electrical infrastructure including fire alarms, generators, transfer switches, high voltage systems, and emergency lighting.
Drive Preventive Strategy: Plan and implement preventive maintenance programs and coordinate scheduled shutdowns with minimal disruption.
Advise on Projects: Review specs and provide technical insights for capital projects and construction, collaborating with engineers and project managers.
Ensure Safety & Reliability: Maintain operational safety procedures and ensure electrical integrity of all systems under your care.
What You Bring:
Master Electricians License (required)
8+ years of relevant experience , including 58 years in a supervisory role
Extensive knowledge of high/low voltage systems, generators, fire alarms, and emergency lighting
Strong communication and organizational skills , including comfort with CMMS platforms (Maximo preferred) and Workday
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities
Associates Degree preferred
Working Conditions:
This role involves work in diverse physical environments, including areas exposed to temperature extremes and electrical and mechanical hazards. Safety, vigilance, and adaptability are essential.
