What Youll Do\:
The Construction Coordinator plays an important role in performing key transactional activities supporting the Divisions construction processes. This role requires reasonable technical knowledge, or the ability to learn, of VMC products and facilities. It also requires time management skills to complete time-sensitive activities. It is imperative that the person in this position be responsive and customer-focused. This role supports a wide variety of internal customers, including financial personnel and upper management. This position supports the Project Management team.

  • Work closely with the Project Management Team and Business Performance Analyst to maintain standard processes across the division.

  • Ability to research, document, and resolve location-related problems as required. Present findings to the appropriate project manager where and when needed

  • Prepares month-end closing information for Accounting based on the current closing schedule; fuel inventories, fixed asset changes, equipment rentals, month-end accounts payable accruals, and location production reports.

  • Work closely with risk and legal to protect Vulcan's interests.

  • Perform various daily duties as required by the project manager or region accounting, including purchase orders, payables, time cards, fuel usage and receipts, bank deposits, tracking costs, and running local reports for the plant manager.

Skills Youll Need\:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration preferred, or equivalent experience.

  • Construction industry experience is an asset, but not required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities\:

  • Strong Relationship Building, Analytical, and Business skills

  • Excellent oral communication skills with the ability to interface with many different audiences

  • Business degree or relevant business administration experience is desired

  • Planning, Prioritizing, and Coordinating skills are essential

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision

  • Flexibility and adaptability

  • Shows leadership potential with the aptitude to grow into roles with more responsibility
