For over 25 years, National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) hasspecialized in connecting experienced workers (ages 55+) with full-time andpart-time job opportunities that support the critical missions of FederalAgencies across the United States.

NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the National ParkService (NPS). These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise,facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad arrayof other professional skills that support the National Park Service through theExperienced Services Program (ESP).

The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee isan ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminateenrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and theAgency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee.

Qualifications:

BA/BS Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture withminimum additional experience of 10 year(s) in Construction Management

Understanding of planning/design and construction projects and capable ofidentifying project needs, schedules, guides, and reports. Broad knowledge ofcost accounting principles, cost analysis techniques, business procedures andpractices. Ability to participate with interdisciplinary teams.Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams, MS OutlookDuties:

The cost estimator shall review building design documents (drawings,specifications, cost estimates, reports, etc.) to determine if the designapproach complies with National Park Service cost estimating standards and toconfirm if the design is within the scope and budget established for theproject. These reviews are quality assurance reviews (as opposed to qualitycontrol reviews). They are expected to inform the project manager as to whetherthe overall design is of a quality that will lead to a biddable and buildableproject with minimum RFIs and modifications.

Early Project Development - Projects are primarily complex and/or high valuethat often require multi-disciplinary approach to scoping needs and developingplanning-level construction cost estimates that take into account National ParkService standards or practice in addition to general industry standards toensure adequate budget requests and successful project completion. 80%General - Provide guidance to other regional and park staff on costestimating best practices. 20%
