The Opportunity:
Project Architect is a project leadership position with responsibility for quality of architectural design and technical production of projects. Perkins Eastman, Costa Mesa Studio covers multiple practice areas including K-14 education and civic projects.
We are seeking an individual with strong technical and communication skills working within the design team to create exemplary buildings, specifically public schools and government projects to suit clients and users needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Leads/assists project team in development and preparation of architectural design and construction documents including drawings and specifications.
- Develop construction documents (drawings and specifications) with minimal supervision.
- Manages drawing, BIM modeling efforts.
- Develops, checks, and coordinates technical aspects of the project design.
- Prepares code reviews for Accessibility, Building and Life Safety.
- Coordinates with consulting engineers documents and specifications.
- Follows and focuses on established standards for project production and review.
- Keeps Project Manager and Principal-in-Charge informed of progress or need for assistance.
- Supervises and mentors assigned staff.
Required Qualifications:
- A five-year bachelors or masters degree in architecture is required.
- Minimum of 8 years experience producing contract documents and performing construction administration services for public school projects.
- Must possess Division of the State Architect experience with the full life cycle of project review, approval and certification.
- Strong organizational, graphic, and written/verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in and readiness to lead the technical details of projects.
- ability to develop, communicate and present design concepts internally and externally.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and manage project priorities.
- Strong REVIT for building information modeling and 3D visualization skills.
- Proficient with other data management software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Proficiency with SpecLink software for preparation of project specifications.
- LEED Accreditation preferred.
- California Architecture license is required.
- Passion for and fundamental understanding of sustainable design.

Salary Range: $95,000 - $110,000
PE has a hybrid policy that allows flexibility for our employees in managing their working days and hours to cater to their diverse needs.
Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographical work location.
