Slayden Constructors Inc SCI a wholly owned subsidiary of MWH Constructors Inc MWH is currently seeking a Project Engineer to support critical wastewater treatment plant WWTP construction projects in the Mill City Oregon Slayden is a leader in the construction industry with a primary focus on water and wastewater infrastructure Slayden is built on strong values hard work and a commitment to getting the job done right The success of our company is best expressed through our efforts to provide a safe workplace with respected employees and a committed management team Our approach has provided steady growth in work volume successful career development for personnel and an extensive list of satisfied clients for more than 40 years Essential Functions Selected individual will provide technical support to project management and project supervision staff to ensure construction work is performed efficiently on schedule and in accordance company policy and engineering standards Assist with subcontractor procurement and management package development construction layout material and equipment procurement submittal review manpower scheduling quantity takeoffs labor productivity reporting document controls material purchases deliveries and inventory and project controlsPerform ongoing quality inspections; verify all completed work complies with applicable permits codes drawings and specificationsPrepare and disseminate all required documentation records such as materials and equipment submittals status reports sketches of work already completed material requirement calculations etc to supervisorPrepare drawings and sketches to support construction work temporary works work method statements change orders estimates etcPreparefacilitate and submit work method statements ensure requisite approvals and permits are obtained prior to work commencementResearch resolutions to drawing interpretation problems conflicts interferences and errors Initiate RFIs and follow through to resolutionLayout and provide necessary building control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and correct installation of materialsEstablish and implement office procedures as they relate to the administration of construction contractsImplement projects controls for distribution and record keeping of correspondence technical records and other project documentsReview all incoming correspondence and initiate action on it record minutes of the weekly and monthly project site meeting review and process the Contractors pay applications review of the project schedule process RFIs and produce weekly and monthly construction progress reportsEnsure Project management systems are maintained up to date and accurateAssist with review and analyze Contractor claims prepare change orders and manage claims and change order recordsAssist estimating staff with quantity takeoffs and solicitation of subcontractors and material vendorsWork in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees but following the company health and safety guidelines and policiesAssist in resolving construction problemissues and perform additional assignments per supervisors directionBasic Qualifications Bachelors degree in Construction Management Civil Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field; equivalent combination of experience skills and training may be substituted2 3 years field construction experience at the jobsite levelExperience on large heavy civil construction projectsWorking knowledge of construction equipment techniques drawings and specifications building materials and required standards applicable to disciplineAbility to assume responsibility and work within a larger team environmentAbility to interface and communicate effectively with othersFamiliarity with Project Management data base systems such as Primavera Contract Manager Expedition SharePoint etcPreferred Qualifications Prior experience with waterwastewater constructionBenefits Group health & welfare benefits including options for medical dental and vision100 company paid benefits including Employee Life Insurance & Accidental Death & Dismemberment AD&D Spouse and Dependent Life & AD&D Short Term Disability STD Long Term Disability LTD after 60 day waiting period for STD & LTD only Employee Assistance Program and Health AdvocateVoluntary benefits at discounted group rates for accidents critical illness and hospital indemnity15 Paid Vacation Days5 Paid Sick DaysPaid Parental Leave Program10 Paid Holidays401k Plan company matching contributions up to 4 Please note that all positions require pre employment screening including drug and background check as a condition of employment Equal Opportunity Employer including disabled and veterans LI ONSITE LI AS1
