Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions) Inspect work area and fill out Work Area Inspection forms daily Read electrical schematics and control wiring diagrams Troubleshoot power distribution systems and manufacturing equipment (including: VFD's, motor starters relays; limit switches and sensors; 3 phase motors and transformers) Run conduit and wires Perform housekeeping as deemed appropriate by Foreperson May be called upon at discretion of the Foreperson to perform any other duties assigned and to assist other departments as necessary Demonstrate the ability to perform all duties safely Learn and implement MSHA standards and regulations to insure a safe operating environment is maintained at all times Report any safety concerns to the foreperson immediately Must adhere to all PPE requirements at all times. Skills/Experience: Individuals must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations, using some combination of skills and abilities. Basic mechanical skills needed Must be self motivated Must be fluent with use of multi-meter, ammeter and megger PLC experience required Knowledge of single and three phase motors Must be capable of working with voltages Must be able to read blueprints, wiring schematics and work orders Must possess the ability to properly cut, bend and string wire and conduit (pipe and tube) Must be able to install and wire transformers, junction boxes, circuit breakers, motors, and light fixtures Must have normal color vision and work from occasional heights Demonstrates safe, productive job performance Ability to communicate effectively with and work well with other personnel Ability to carry out simple oral and written instructions and deal with simple problems High degree of precision working with minimum tolerances required. High degree of attention and care required to prevent injury to others when responsible for flow of electrical power. Exposed to high voltage electricity.
