Core Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor site-specific safety plans for utility projects including electrical, gas, and water infrastructure.
- Conduct regular job site inspections, audits, and safety meetings to ensure compliance with OSHA, NYC DOB, and company standards.
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; recommend corrective actions and track implementation.
- Provide safety training and onboarding for field personnel and subcontractors.
- Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation.
- Serve as the primary safety liaison with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching, mentoring, and daily engagement with crews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of safety management experience in utility or heavy civil construction.
- OSHA 30-hour certification required; CHST, CSP, or other safety credentials preferred.
- Strong knowledge of NYC construction safety regulations, including Local Law 196 and DOB requirements.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and travel between job sites across NYC.
The salary on offer for this position is between $140k - $160k plus vehicle allowance, healthcare, dental, vision, 401k plus match and annual bonus.
