Job Description Summary Complete urgent and routine repairs, maintenance and installation of the (HVAC) Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning System for all facilities owned and operated by Southeast Health, to insure that our patients receive quality and safe care by following policy and procedure of the Plant Operations, Southeast Health, local, state and national safety codes. Perform preventive maintenance required on HVAC equipment. Job Description QUALIFICATIONS: High School graduate or equivalent; At least five years' experience preferred; General computer knowledge; Ability to read and understand diagram blue prints; Experience in soldering or welding preferred; Knowledge of state and local building and safety codes; Valid drivers' license. LANGUAGE/ COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing; Ability to communicate effectively in an emergency situation; Must be able to promote positive behavior in others; Ability to utilize the internet, intranet and e-mail; Ability to utilize radio and paging system. RESPONSIBILITIES: Complete all assigned work requestors generated manually and/or by computer in a timely manner ensuring patient, visitor and hospital personnel satisfaction, for the facility and outlying clinics and document prompted information in the work requestor program; Must have a good knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the HVAC field; Performs a variety of tasks. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job; Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgement. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager; Performs maintenance and service repairs on HVAC systems. Ability to installs new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines; Relies on limited experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals; A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required: Beginning knowledge of chill water system, Beginning knowledge of preventive maintenance on related equipment in the facility and outlying clinics., Beginning knowledge of HVAC control system, Must be able to make minor repairs on refrigeration equipment; Maintain a professional appearance and attitude, following all policy and procedures of Southeast Health, wearing I.D. badge at all times.
