A full-service urban planning, government affairs, and community engagement consulting firm serving a diverse range of clients in the State of Hawaii is currently seeking a full-time Building Planner to join our team in Maui. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients on environmental review documents, land use entitlement processes, community outreach, feasibility studies, and other areas of project implementation. Hours Full-time, 7:45am-4:30pm Monday-Friday Location Wailuku, Maui Pay $70,000 to $100,000 a year, Based on Experience Responsibilities- Conduct research and analysis for various environmental, technical, and feasibility studies
- Prepare Environmental Assessment and Environmental Impact Statement documents
- Develop land use entitlement applications
- Coordinate with Federal, State, and County agencies on application processing and regulatory compliance
- Assist clients in processing construction permits
- Collaborate with clients, technical consultants, and other project team members
- Deliver presentations to decision-making bodies such as Planning Commissions, Boards, or Councils
- Formulate and implement community engagement strategies to ensure respectful and transparent communication throughout project assignments
- Degree in urban and regional planning or a similar field (Master's degree preferred)
- Professional experience in planning or a related field required
- Excellent communication, research, writing, and critical thinking skills
- Experience in project management with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Willingness and ability to work effectively as a member of multidisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational skills
- American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification is a plus
