Laborer

The Laborer will include grass / weed mowing, weed pulling, policing debris throughout the Camp James A. Garfield environmental Areas of Concern (AOCs)in support of the Environmental Program Support Services contract. This position includes mowing, weed-clearing and brush-clearing, and warning sign maintenance and installation

• Support the project Safety Plan through personal involvement in all aspects of safety, including training and attention to the adherence to safety requirements pertaining to particular trades or skills.
• This position may be designated as Mission Critical as required by the company to meet contract requirements.
• Must wear and use all required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, safety shoes, ear plugs, hardhat, etc.
• Participation in Quality Control and Safety Program.
• Perform daily checks on company provided equipment and vehicles.
• Must be able to use mowers, trimmers, and edger.
• Clean ground maintenance equipment.
• Police grounds prior to mowing or trimming.
• Perform debris clean up.
• Perform other work related duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned

• High School diploma.
• Minimum three (3) years of outdoor work experience may be considered in lieu of diploma
• Minimum one (1) year experience as a laborer.
• Posses and maintain a valid State Drivers License and deemed insurable under company policy.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to read, write and receive written and/or verbal instructions in English.
• Ability to use good judgment and common sense when performing job functions.
• Ability to be punctual and posses patience to work under stressful conditions.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
