Job Title: HVAC Technician / Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) L3

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Technician who will also serve as our on-site Level 3 Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO L3). This is a crucial dual-role responsible for the technical performance of all HVAC systems and the implementation and enforcement of our comprehensive safety program. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in HVAC coupled with a strong, unwavering commitment to workplace safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
HVAC Maintenance & Repair: Perform hands-on installation, maintenance, and repair of various heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Diagnose complex issues, perform necessary repairs, and ensure all systems are running at peak efficiency.
Safety Program Oversight: Implement and maintain the project's Site-Specific Accident Prevention Plan. Conduct daily safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Safety Training: Lead site-wide safety orientations, toolbox talks, and other training sessions to ensure all personnel are aware of and adhere to safety protocols.
Compliance & Reporting: Act as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters. Ensure the site is compliant with OSHA standards and all other federal, state, and local safety regulations.
Incident Management: Investigate all accidents, injuries, and near-misses. Document findings, recommend corrective actions, and submit all necessary reports to management.
Tool & Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous records of all HVAC work performed and all safety-related activities, including training, inspections, and incident reports.
Desired Qualifications:
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of a vocational program, technical school, or an associate's degree in HVAC or a related field is a significant plus.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience as an HVAC Technician, with a proven track record of diagnosing and repairing complex systems. At least 3 years of experience in a dedicated safety role is also required.
Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigerants, and tools. Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA 1926 Construction standards and EM 385-1-1 requirements.
Leadership: Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Must be a self-starter who can effectively enforce safety rules while maintaining a collaborative working environment.
Certification: A valid driver's license is required. EPA Section 608 certification is mandatory. An OSHA 30-hour Construction or General Industry certification is required, along with proof of an L3-level safety course completion.
Physical Requirements :
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Requires the ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
Must be able to work in various conditions, including exposure to high and low temperatures, loud noise, dust, fumes, and confined spaces.
