Summary Statement

Are you the kind of person who can tear down a pump, rebuild it, and get it back online before lunch? The City of Boise is looking for an Industrial Mechanic to keep our wastewater treatment systems running safely and efficiently. This is skilled, hands-on work in an industrial setting youll be maintaining motors, pumps, valves, piping, and other critical mechanical systems that serve the community every day.

In this role, youll use everything from wrenches to welding torches to troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and install equipment. Youll also work with fabrication tools, read blueprints, track maintenance in software systems, and help keep things operating to meet strict safety and environmental standards. Minimum Qualifications

You must meet the following to be considered:

+ Education & Experience:

+ High school diploma or GED

+ At least 2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or industrial repair work, including:

+ Troubleshooting and repairing pumps, valves, piping systems

+ Welding, fabrication, and/or pipefitting

+ Using hand and power tools in a shop or field setting

+ Knowledge of:

+ Engines, motors, compressors, and industrial plumbing systems

+ Safety standards, hazards, and best practices in industrial environments

+ Welding, pipe fitting, and fabrication with various materials

+ Basic electrical systems and reading technical manuals or blueprints

+ Ability to:

+ Safely operate tools, cranes, hoists, forklifts, and shop equipment

+ Perform physical work, including lifting heavy parts and working in confined spaces

+ Follow safety protocols, use protective gear, and handle hazardous materials

+ Communicate clearly and document work using computer sy
