General Definition of Work
Performs works responsible for operating heavy equipment in support of the repair, operation and maintenance relating to water facilities and equipment.
Essential Functions
Operates a variety of equipment and vehicles including front-end loaders, backhoes, service vehicles, trailers, sludge removing equipment, tapping machines and others as needed in the repair, operation and maintenance of water lines, water wells, boosters and water distribution systems.
Transports equipment to and from work sites.
Maintains, repairs and performs preventive maintenance on all assigned water related equipment including any mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure proper and safe operations.
Assists crew as needed in the inspection of new installations of water lines and appurtenances and new water facilities.
Performs snow and ice removal duties
Responds to emergency call out situations as required.
Assists with traffic control duties.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency and three (3) years experience and a demonstrated proficiency in heavy equipment operations on construction site.
Must comply with Missouri CDL requirements and maintain a valid Class A license with airbrake endorsement.
Salary per hour $19.52, plus a generous benefit package.
- Bi-weekly pay periods.

- 96 hours of sick leave – accrued throughout the year.
- 2 days of personal leave per fiscal year. Must be employed on July 1 of the fiscal year to receive.

- Total compensation value (Hourly starting rate plus benefits value) for this position is $29.19 hourly/$60,706 yearly.
