Design Drafter

Summary

Uses Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to design electro-mechanical packaging for our products. Creates clear, and accurate component and assembly drawings to aide in the build of those products.

• Utilize knowledge of MIL Specifications, ANSI drawing standards, and geometric tolerancing to complete drawings
• Makes adjustments or necessary changes to drawings as required
• Analyzes engineering sketches, specifications, and customer drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape and arrangement of parts
• Uses Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) software, specifically PTC Creo and AutoCAD.
• Interacts with customers, and vendors
• Deciphers redline changes made to drawings and incorporates those changes into designs
• Uses the Intuitive Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) program to create bill of materials, and to control configuration of products
• Creates and processes Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
• Makes copies of appropriate documents, and maintains information regarding change orders or adjustments to the product
• Utilizes various tools, assembly processes, and test equipment
• May write manufacturing control records, process sheets and acceptance test procedures
